The Obesity Mechanisms program at Leipzig University investigates three primary research areas: overeating behaviors, mechanisms of fat deposition and inflammation, and the role of altered adipokine secretion. The program aims to elucidate the underlying biological and physiological processes contributing to obesity and its related disorders, with the ultimate goal of identifying novel therapeutic targets for effective treatment.
