General academic requirements include A-levels with a minimum of BBB, including A-level Spanish; applicants without A-level Spanish may present AS-level Spanish grade B or evidence of proficiency in another language, provided they meet the overall criteria. Irish Leaving Certificate applicants require H3 grades in five subjects, including Higher Level Spanish. For International Baccalaureate, a minimum of 32 points with 6,5,5 at Higher Level, including Spanish, is necessary. BTEC Extended Diplomas with grades DDDR (QCF) or DDD (RQF) are also accepted. Note that GCSE Spanish grade B/6 or equivalent is required for beginners' Spanish, and the Beginners' option is not available to those with prior A-level or AS-level Spanish. Access courses are generally not considered suitable for meeting language prerequisites.
