Applicants must hold an Honours degree with a minimum classification of 2.1 or higher, or an equivalent international qualification. A GCSE or higher-level Chemistry qualification is required, or an acceptable alternative such as the Chemistry for Conservators distance-learning course. Demonstrated manual skills, particularly in stitching or related crafts, should be showcased through portfolio examples, preferably presented at interview. Prior conservation or museum experience is not mandatory but an interest in the field must be demonstrated.
