While a background in information technology, computer science, cybersecurity, or related fields is preferred, candidates from other disciplines are encouraged to apply. Due to the cybersecurity talent shortage, work experience in IT or cybersecurity is not mandatory; however, applicants lacking two years of experience may need to fulfill additional program requirements. Those without an IT or cybersecurity background are required to complete CMIT 500, while those with relevant experience may be advised to do so.
