Applicants must hold a baccalaureate degree in a liberal arts and sciences major or have completed at least 36 approved credits in such a concentration, with a minimum GPA of 3.0. International candidates must possess a credential deemed equivalent to a U.S. bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution and demonstrate full command of academic English at the graduate level. For Track 1, candidates must have or obtain NYS initial certification in early childhood, childhood, or adolescence education, and submit official transcripts, certification copies, and GRE scores (or equivalent). Track 2 applicants are not required to have NYS certification but must have foundational knowledge in special education, learning and development, social foundations of education, and literacy or linguistics, with conditional admission possible during coursework completion. The TESOL Non-Cert Track has no additional admission prerequisites.
