This program is organized into four 10-week quarters per year (as opposed to the traditional two semester system) which means you can take more courses in a shorter time period. One semester credit is equivalent to 1.5 quarter credits. Use our quarter to semester credit converter to calculate the difference. The MS in Electrical Engineering curriculum encompasses completion of a minimum of 45 approved graduate quarter credit hours, chosen in accordance with the following requirements and a program plan arranged with the graduate advisors in consultation with your supervising professor, if applicable.A total of at least 30 credit hours must be taken from among the graduate course offerings of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. These credits must be taken at Drexel University. No transfer credit may be used to fulfill these requirements, regardless of content equivalency.
Applicants must hold a four-year Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution in the US or an equivalent international university. Acceptable related fields include Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Software Engineering, and Telecommunications Engineering. Degrees in Engineering Technology are generally not accepted. A minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0 is required; applicants with a GPA slightly below this may be considered if their final two years of coursework meet the standard. If additional graduate coursework has been completed, the overall GPA must also be at least 3.0.
