Three reference letters are required: one from a licensed occupational therapist, one from an academic instructor or advisor, and one from a supervisor or professional who can attest to the applicant’s work ethic. A personal statement and a supplemental essay addressing experiences related to culturally competent and equitable care are also required. Additionally, applicants must document at least 30 hours of observational or volunteer experience—20 hours in an occupational therapy setting and 10 hours in community service—to demonstrate commitment to the profession and community engagement.
