Applicants must submit a $50 application fee, official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions, two letters of recommendation, and a work sample tailored to their chosen genre—either 5-8 pieces in Poetry (text, image, sound, video, or mixed media) or 1-4 prose samples (15-20 pages, double-spaced). An exploratory path option allows for 4-8 samples across genres. Personal statements (1-2 pages or 1-3 minute video) explaining motivation are required. Transfer students must provide transcripts from all attended institutions and a course listing. Non-native English speakers must submit TOEFL scores. All materials should demonstrate the applicant’s readiness for graduate-level creative work.
