    Applicants must hold a Master's degree in criminal justice or a closely related field from an accredited institution. They must submit a recent, competitive GRE score (within five years), three letters of recommendation—at least two from university faculty, including one from the degree-granting institution—, a personal statement (500–1,000 words) detailing research interests, educational goals, career aspirations, computer skills, and relevant qualifications, a comprehensive curriculum vitae, and an academic writing sample of at least 2,000 words demonstrating graduate-level research and writing ability.
