Curriculum:Careers in local, state, and federal agencies; industry; and public interest groups are supported. Master’s degrees can be earned by completing 24 credits of coursework, 6 credits of original thesis research, and successfully defending the master’s thesis.Those who anticipate further study can complete 30 credits of specified coursework, a disciplinary exam, and write a scholarly paper to complete a master’s degree.The Ph.D. requires 30 credits of coursework, satisfactory performance on comprehensive exams, and completion of at least 12 credits of doctoral research followed by the successful defense of the doctoral thesis.There are three areas of specialization from which the student may choose: chemical carcinogenesis, environmental toxicology, neurotoxicology, and molecular & mechanistic toxicology.
